UPDATE: The second suspect has been arrested in Georgia.
On January 24, 2014, Robin D. Arthur was captured in Catoosa County, Georgia by the Ringgold, GA Police Department. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Attempted 1st Degree Murder. Mr. Arthur is in custody in Georgia awaiting extradition. The charge stems from an incident on January 9, 2014 when he ambushed and stabbed an individual at 359 Barnett Drive, Lot #10 in Kingsport. Merry A. Stanley was also arrested in that incident and charged with Accessory to Attempted 1st Degree Murder. Just prior to the stabbing, Ms. Stanley shouted to the victim, “Robin’s going to get you!” and then physically restrained the victim’s wife to prevent her from coming to the aid of her husband. As previously released: One individual has been arrested, and another is still at large, in a stabbing incident at a local trailer park. On January 9, 2014 at approximately 4:00 AM, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers responded to a local trailer park in reference to a stabbing. An individual had just arrived at a residence located at 359 Barnett Drive, lot #10, in Kingsport. As he exited the vehicle, Merry A. Stanley approached him from the adjacent lot and shouted, “Robin’s going to get you!” Immediately, Robin D. Arthur emerged out of the shadows and attacked the victim with a knife. Mr. Arthur fled the scene prior to police arrival. He and the victim were acquainted and had been involved in a previous argument. The victim sustained severe lacerations and was transported to the Holston Valley Medical Center Emergency Room where he was treated and later released. Detectives responded and took over the investigation. A warrant was obtained charging Mr. Arthur with Attempted 1st Degree Murder. Ms. Stanley was arrested and charged with Accessory to Attempted 1st Degree Murder. Anyone who may know where Robin D. Arthur can be located is asked to contact the K.P.D.
