There will be a Public Meeting of the Kingsport Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (MTPO) Executive Board on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 10:00 am in the Kingsport City Hall Board Room at 415 Broad Street in Kingsport, Tennessee. Copies of the agenda and supporting documentation can be found in the MTPO office, the Kingsport Public Library, the lobby of Kingsport City Hall, or here. The primary items for this meeting include consideration of PM2 (infrastructure condition) and PM3 (system performance) targets, consideration of the FY24 UPWP for Virginia, and amendments to the TIP for Virginia. Time is also allotted for the Executive Board to receive comments on these or other items pertaining to the Kingsport Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization. The meeting will be in-person and members of the public are welcome to attend. We also plan to offer live public access to the meeting through a Zoom webinar. TDOT is working on their Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) plan at this time and they are asking for input from the public. The ITS system in the Tri-Cities consists of the Tennessee Smartway Camera System, Variable Message Boards (drivers on I-81 see these), 511 phone system and the public traffic advisory radio system.
