Pretreatment
The purpose of the pretreatment program is to monitor industrial discharges by way of sampling, testing and inspection to better control pollutants at their source.
Some industrial pollutants may interfere with normal operation of the plant or pass-through the system, negatively impacting the receiving stream.
The Clean Water Act of 1977 and EPA Regulations 40 CFR 403, require all publicly owned treatment facilities to implement a pretreatment program. Under these regulations as well as City regulated Local Limits, this program insures the protection of receiving streams for municipal discharges.
All commercial business and industrial users desiring to discharge into the City sewer system must complete the Industrial Pretreatment Form found at this link.
Application does not guarantee permitting. There is a fifty dollar ($50) process fee required with submittal.
