The Surveying unit of the Engineering Division of Public Works consists of a three-man crew that performs design and construction surveys for a variety of engineering projects. In addition, they are responsible for maintaining the Kingsport Geodetic Reference Network, monitoring remaining capacity at the Kingsport Demolition Landfill, marking Right-of-Way locations throughout the city, and performing various surveys for other city divisions as needed.
