K.P.D. has arrested a drunk driver who crashed his vehicle into a music instruction school.
On January 25, 2014 at approximately 3:40 AM, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash on Memorial Boulevard near the Orebank Road intersection, in Kingsport. Upon arrival, their investigation revealed that a 2000 Land Rover sport utility vehicle (white in color), driven by Bobby T. DePriest, had run off the roadway, sheared off a utility pole, and struck a music instruction school, located at 3404 Memorial Boulevard. Being literally knocked from its foundation by the impact, the building sustained what is likely irreparable damage. Fortunately, due to the hour of day, the building was unoccupied at the time of the crash. Mr. DePriest was arrested for: 1) Driving Under the Influence 2) Driving on Suspended License 3) Failure to Maintain Proper Control of Vehicle 4) Also arrested on an outstanding unrelated Sullivan County warrant For additional information, please contact: Thomas M.
