A blue 2003 Chevrolet Silverado full-size pickup, driven by Tyler B. Cross, was southbound on Fort Henry Drive approaching the intersection with Green Hills Drive. Meanwhile, a black 1998 Chevrolet Silverado full-size pickup, driven by Rita L. Cline and occupied by one passenger, George W. Cline, was northbound on Fort Henry Drive attempting a left turn onto Green Hills Drive.

The black 1998 pickup pulled into the path of the blue 2003 pickup resulting in an angular collision between the two vehicles. The black 1998 pickup rolled over and left the roadway before coming to a rest upside down.

Mr. Cross was not injured in the crash; however, both Mr. and Mrs. Cline were transported to an area medical facility by Sullivan County EMS. Mrs. Cline was evaluated for possible injuries, but has since been treated and released. Mr. Cline’s injuries were much more severe. He succumbed to his injuries and died after arrival at the hospital.

This crash remains under investigation by the K.P.D. Traffic Unit with possible charges pending. As such, no additional information is available for release at this time.
