Kingsport to celebrate National Public Works Week with Thursday event at Civic Auditorium

KINGSPORT ‚¬ The week of May 20 through May 26 has been declared as National Public Works week by the American Public Works Association, and Kingsport public work professionals will be on hand on Thursday, May 24, to demonstrate the work of those who plan, manage and maintain the Citys basic infrastructure, including water, sewer and transportation networks. Other Public Works group members also will detail the Citys efforts in solid waste collection and disposal, as well as maintenance of public buildings and grounds.

We are blessed by an extraordinary group of employees who are dedicated to serving the tax payers of Kingsport, Public Works Director Ryan McReynolds said Monday. We very much appreciate the community taking a few minutes out of their day to visit with us at the Civic Auditorium, where we can personally explain the many of services offered by the City of Kingsport.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the east side parking lot of the Civic Auditorium, with equipment displays and other information provided at the event displaying equipment as well as several presentations explaining essential daily operations
