Kingsport offering Beginner and Adult Guitar Lessons
The Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department will be offering beginner and adult guitar lessons this winter at the V.O. Dobbins, Sr. Complex.
The lessons will take place every Tuesday from January 20 through February 24 at the V.O. Dobbins, Sr. Complex (301 Louis Street). The Beginner lessons will run from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. each day; Adult lessons will take place from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day.
Participants ages 7 and up can register and the cost of the lessons is $100 per person. No prior experience is necessary for the Beginner lessons; all participants will need to bring their own guitar to the lessons.
Instructor Terry McCoy brings years of teaching and performing experience, offering personalized instruction that covers basic chords, strumming patterns, and even simple songs. The goal is to develop confidence, musicality, and a lifelong love for playing guitar.
