Kingsport Library hosting Financial Literacy for Teens session
Financial literacy is the understanding of money, from budgeting and savings to debt management, investment and retirement planning. Having this knowledge and understanding can help lead you to financial stability throughout your life.
For many teenagers, finances are probably the furthest things from their minds. Which is why it’s important for teenagers to become financially literate, to create healthy money habits early in life and to prevent them from making long-term financial mistakes.
The Kingsport Public Library will be hosting a Financial Literacy for Teens session on July 23 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. in the main floor auditorium. Alan Pickle, from Operation Hope, will be the speaker and light refreshments will be provided.
Operation Hope is an Atlanta-based non-profit organization that provides financial literacy and economic education to youth and adults.
The event is free, and no registration is required. For information about other events, programs and activities at the library, please visit www.kingsportlibrary.org or call 423-229-9489.
