GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
On the afternoon of December 26, 2017, a man misplaced his debit card shortly after using it a JCPenney inside the Fort Henry Mall, located at 2101 Fort Henry Drive in Kingsport. Soon thereafter, his card apparently fell into the wrong hands and was utilized to conduct multiple fraudulent transactions throughout Kingsport to include:
1) $654.74 at Walmart 2) $603.72 at GameStop 3) $299.88 at Cato 4) $1,000 at Walmart 5) $297.38 at Ulta A white female suspect was recorded on surveillance video during several of these transactions. She was also recorded getting into a light colored minivan following one of those transactions. An array of photos of the suspect and her vehicle taken from that footage has been included in this release. Anyone who recognizes her or her vehicle, or who may be able to provide any additional information which may help solve this case, is asked to contact Detectives in the K.P.D. GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
On December 6, 2017 a woman’s Michael Kors purse ($500 value) was stolen from her office in the 200 block of Broad Street in Kingsport. Among the items inside the purse was her wallet which contained several credit cards. Shortly thereafter, one of those cards was used to make and/or attempt to make multiple fraudulent purchases. These transactions included:
1) $930.73 at Target (successful/completed) 2) $4.93 at Walmart Redbox (successful/completed) 3) $11.00 at Walmart Murphy’s (successful/completed) 4) $1,046.79 at Walmart (attempted/declined) 5) $612.07 at Walmart (attempted/declined) 6) $113.32 at Walmart Murphy’s (attempted/declined) 7) $22.66 at Walmart Murphy’s (attempted/declined) 8) Unspecified amount at Amazon.com (successful/completed) A white male adult suspect was recorded on surveillance video while fraudulently using the card at a Redbox kiosk inside Walmart, located at 2500 West Stone Drive.
