UPDATE: SUSPECT ARRESTED
Jeremy R. Stout has been arrested by the Kingsport Police Department on outstanding warrants for 2 Counts of Burglary, Attempted Aggravated Burglary, Theft of Property over $500, and Attempted Theft Under $500. On August 5, 2013 at approximately 3:45 AM, Kingsport Police Patrol Officer Andrew Goddard received information that Mr. Stout was at Lee Apartments #90, located at 651 Dale Street in Kingsport. Officer Goddard responded to this location, located Mr. Stout, and arrested him without incident. On May 12, 2013 at 5:45 PM, Jeremy Stout ran from 2517 Nathan Street when the resident came home and caught him in her storage building. Further investigation revealed that he had attempted to break into the residence as well. Sometime during the night of May 13-14, 2013, Stout returned to the scene, forced entry into the storage building and stole a Cub Cadet push mower and a DVD player. The lawnmower has since been recovered at Mr. Stout’s residence. On May 20, 2013 Mr. Stout threw a rock through the window of Holy Mountain Baptist Church located at 3121 Ashley Street in Kingsport. After breaking the window, Mr. Stout climbed on top of a heat pump in an attempt to gain entry into the church through the broken window. The church’s burglar alarm system activated, so he fled the scene. At some point during the commission of the crime, Mr. Stout apparently cut himself on the broken glass and left blood at the scene.
