| The Kingsport Police Department alerts area motorists to expect traffic congestion and delays on Sunday, September 29, 2013 in the Highland and Fairacres area due to a road race event.
The event is Cooper’s Race/MitoAction Energy 3K Walk and 5K Run and will be based out of Indian Highland Park, located at 1814 East Center Street in Kingsport. The event runs from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 PM, with the actual race beginning at 3:00 PM. The race will guide through residential streets in the Highland and Fairacres neighborhoods. A map of the race route is included in this release. The following streets will be affected: 1) East Center Street 2) Park Street 3) Vance Street 4) Harris Street 5) Watauga Street 6) Crescent Street 7) Belmeade Drive 8) Brightridge Drive 9) Lamont Street 10) Fairidge Drive 11) Fairidge Place 12) Sandalwood Drive Individuals who do not intend to participate in this event should consider alternate routes to avoid delays.
