KingsportARTS taking applications for Summer Camp
This summer, our art camps are going to be super fun and exciting! (and don’t worry, we’ll teach you everything you need to know!) We are changing the system up a little bit this year. The two Full Day camps will be grade based. Both weeks will culminate in a film premiere on Friday at 5:30 p.m., which will be open to the public.
Visit our website at KingsportARTS.org to register and pay online or email us at KingsportARTS@gmail.com and we will send you a registration form.
Pre-Kindergarten students (ages 3-5) will be coming June 2-6 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. They will be working with clay, learning about character acting, collaborating on scripts, learning about claymation and even participating in the claymation films! As always, we will be incorporating those pre-Kindergarten skills they need!
Grades K – 5 will be coming June 2-6 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. They will be making claymation films during the week of camp (using the stop motion animation style). Students will create the characters, write the scripts, learn to work with a group, experience the art of voice over work, and design posters and DVD covers for their films. These films will take a collaboration of all types of skills, so everyone will have a job!
Grades 6-12 will be coming June 9-13 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. These students will be creating their own short films. We need actors, artists, film makers, computer editors (or at least those interested in learning these things) and more. Creative groups will be formed and they will write their script, set up their shot list, film their scenes, act in their scenes, design movie posters and DVD covers!
Camp prices are the same as last year and includes all materials and instruction:
Arts4Kids – Pre-Kindergarten students (ages 3-5): $100
Arts4Kids – Grades K – 5: $200
KEYPAD – Grades 6-12: $300
Students will need to bring a bag lunch and drink each day. KingsportARTS will provide an afternoon snack for the full day campers.
We recommend play clothes for campers the week of June 2-6 and always closed toe shoes.
Arts4Kids students (June 2-6) are encouraged (but not required) to bring their iPad’s (so they can continue to use the apps after camp). App information will be sent to you before camp starts so you can help your camper install the necessary apps on their iPad’s they will be bringing. KingsportARTS does have a few iPad’s for campers to use as well.
