Kingsport Parks and Recreation offering specialty camps this summer
Kingsport’s Parks and Recreation Department is offering a series of specialty camps this summer for children and teenagers with each one focusing on a specific activity for an entire week.
If you child loves competing in video games, riding a bike or building with LEGO bricks, then our specialty camps just might be the program to sign up for this summer.
The five specialty camps being offered this summer include:
Bike Camp: (June 2-6 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) – Get ready to ride this summer with a program that aims to build confidence, learn biking safety and have lots of fun on two wheels. Campers will need to bring their own bike and helmet. Ages 6-12.
Creator Camp: (June 9-12 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Allandale Mansion) – Join us for an exciting week of creativity and discovery at Creator Camp. Each day has a unique theme with a variety of activities, including Engineering Day, Junkyard Wars Day, Arts & Crafts Day and Weird Science Day. Ages 6-12.
Inclusive Camp: (June 16-19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the V.O. Dobbins Sr Complex) – Throughout the week, campers will have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of inclusive and adaptive activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities, from arts and crafts to sports and music. Ages 14 and up.
E-Sports Camp: (June 23-27 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the V.O. Dobbins Sr Complex) – Campers will have the opportunity to play and be instructed on a variety of games, including Fortnite, Rocket League and more. Consoles will be available, but campers can bring their own as well. Ages 6-12.
Outdoor Camp: (July 7-10 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Borden Park) – Come spend the week exploring the outdoors at one of Kingsport’s most popular parks. Campers will learn to identify trees, birds and insects along with playing games of disc golf and corn hole. Ages 6-12.
