I-81 Traffic Advisory

On Thursday, December 15, 2022 as of approximately 8:00 AM, the Kingsport Police Department Patrol Division and Traffic Unit are investigating at least two separate traffic collisions involving multiple vehicles on Interstate 81 northbound between exits 57 (I-26 Interchange) and 59 (Fort Henry Drive/Colonial Heights). Traffic is extremely congested and will likely be so for the next few hours. Motorists are strongly encouraged to avoid the area and seek an alternate route. Anyone already in the immediate area is asked to slow down, exercise caution and patience, and obey all traffic instructions. No further details regarding these crashes is currently available.
