Dobyns-Bennett to Host Second Annual Arts Festival
KINGSPORT – Dobyns-Bennett High School will host its second annual Arts Festival this Friday and Saturday, April 30 and May 1.
The event will showcase the artistic talents of Dobyns-Bennetts students during a Gallery Hop" on Friday and will feature performances by members of the Dobyns-Bennett band, orchestra, theatre and chorus groups on Friday and Saturday nights.
Art classrooms have been transformed into galleries, with displays of student artwork throughout. A special exhibit in the band building on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. will feature the works of Dobyns-Bennett seniors throughout their high school career.
In addition, the student art and literary magazine, Impressions, will be released Friday, April 30 and will be sold during the Gallery Hop and at the Senior Art Show.‚ On Saturday, Amanda Carruba, DB art Student, will receive the 1st purchase award for her design used on the cover of Impressions magazine.‚ ‚ Her original artwork will be framed and displayed in an exhibit at DB.
