SUBJECT: KPD Investigating Crash with Life-Threatening Injuries

GENERAL NARRATIVE
At approximately 17:00 hours on August 26, 2025, the Kingsport Police Department responded to a motor vehicle collision near the 3700 block of Fort Henry Drive. The preliminary investigation into the collision revealed that for reasons unknown, the vehicle involved left the roadway, struck a utility pole on the right side of the roadway, and then rolled down an embankment. It was a single vehicle collision, occupied by a single driver, who was flown via med-flight to Johnson City Medical Center for treatment of potentially life-threatening injuries.
The Kingsport Police Department is still investigating the scene to determine the cause of the crash, and the right-hand lane of Fort Henry Drive remains closed at this time. Motorists are asked to drive with caution while recovery crews and law enforcement personnel are working in the area.
