| SUBJECT: | Kingsport Police Attempting to Identify Auto Burglary and Credit Card Fraud Suspect | ||

| GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
| On January 24, 2018 at approximately 3:00 PM, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers responded to a report of an auto burglary that had just occurred in the parking lot of Walmart, located at 3200 Fort Henry Drive in Kingsport. The victim told the responding officer that after shopping and making a purchase, she had secured her purse and the merchandise (which she described as approximately $100 worth of groceries) in her vehicle.
She then returned to the store to change her infant child’s diaper. As she walked back into the store, she reportedly pushed the door lock button on the vehicle remote and thought she heard the vehicle beep to confirm. When she returned to her vehicle just moments later, there was no sign of forced entry; however, her purse and all of her groceries had been stolen. Among the numerous items in her purse was a Citi Bank credit card. While the Patrol Officer was speaking with the victim, she received a text message from Citi Bank alerting her that her credit card had just been used at Walgreens, located just down the road at 3900 Fort Henry Drive in the Colonial Heights area of Kingsport. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had used the victim’s credit card to purchase a $100 gift card. A check of surveillance video at both locales revealed footage of the suspect’s vehicle at Walmart, as well as footage of the suspect himself at Walgreens. The suspect is a slim white male adult with facial hair. His vehicle is very distinctive and appears to be a late 1990s model Honda Accord. The vehicle is dark in color but has a contrasting light colored front bumper, roof, and lower side panels. It also has a rear spoiler on the trunk lid and a sunroof. Photos of the suspect and his vehicle are included in this release. Anyone who recognizes either of them, or who may have any additional information which may help Detectives solve this case is asked to contact the K.P.D.
