

City of Kingsport property taxes have been billed and to avoid penalties, property owners must pay those taxes on or before November 30, 2025.

A 2% fee will be added to unpaid property taxes on December 1, 2025, an additional 2% fee will be added on January 1, 2026, and an additional 1% fee will be added on the 1st of every subsequent month until the property taxes are paid in full.
Note – penalties assessed for delinquent tax payments cannot be waived by any city official.
Kingsport residents who live in Sullivan County should receive tax notices beginning this week.
Property taxes can be paid online (www.kingsporttn.gov) by mail or in person at the Customer Service Center on the first floor of city hall (415 Broad Street). The drive-thru at city hall offers two options of paying property taxes. The electronic kiosk in Lane 1 accepts cash, check or credit/debit card payments. Checks may be put in an envelope and placed in the drop box in Lane 2.
The City of Kingsport accepts VISA, MasterCard, and Discover credit/debit cards at the Customer Service Center, online and at the drive-thru kiosk. A 2.75% card processing fee will be assessed for all property taxes paid by credit/debit cards. There are no additional fees at the kiosk if paying by cash or check.
You can also pay your property taxes online by using an eCheck option with no additional fees. Visit www.kingsporttn.gov and select online tax payments. Then after selecting your account or address, select the payment type “eCheck” and enter the requested bank information.
Note – property tax payments cannot be paid over the phone.

What if I did not receive a tax bill?
Note – please allow time for the tax bill to reach you by mail. If you have not received your tax bill by October 22, action may be needed.
FIRST – Contact the Customer Service Center at 423-343-9860 Option 3. Please be aware, failing to receive a tax notice or disputing a property’s assessed value are not valid reasons for not paying on time. Penalties will still be assessed.
SECOND – if you need to update your mailing address or contact information for your property, you must contact the Property Tax Assessors Office in the county where your property is located.

Today, October 1st, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., a large structure will be transported by truck and trailer along East Stone Drive, Lynn Garden Drive, West Center Street, and Netherland Inn Road. Motorists are advised to expect delays along the route. The company hauling the load has obtained appropriate permits from the State. Please use caution while driving on the above roadways this morning.

Bays Mountain Park & Planetarium would like to invite families, friends, and fall-lovers alike to experience the magic of autumn at this year’s Autumn Park After Dark 2025.
Autumn Park After Dark is a one-of-a-kind celebration taking place October 25 where guests may enjoy twilight hikes, barge rides, trick-or-treating and the chance to gather on the mountain under the stars.
Whether hiking to the historic Fire Tower by moonlight, meeting animal ambassadors up-close, or sipping cider under the stars, Autumn Park After Dark 2025 offers something fun and enjoyable for everyone.
Food and drink will be available throughout the evening, with the La Abejita food truck serving from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A self-serve hot cocoa and cider bar will also be available on the Nature Center balcony.
Event Highlights
Visitors can also enjoy an optional StarWatch program at 7:45 p.m. for free and/or an optional Paint-a-Pumpkin activity during the Nature Center portion of your program for an additional $7 per person.
Tickets are required for entry to all Autumn Park After Dark programs and guests must show proof of ticket purchase (digital or printed). Gate entry fee applies, and attendees may either pay at the gate or show their current membership card. Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as many programs have limited capacity.
Special Note – Due to a planned water maintenance project, the water will be turned off at the park during Autumn Park After Dark. Several portable toilets and hand washing stations will be available around the parking areas.

Kingsport is launching a new Customer Information System (CIS) at the end of April. The current system will enter maintenance mode, and services – such as account changes and taking payments – will be temporarily unavailable after 5 p.m. on April 23 through 8 a.m. on April 27.
Note – payment due dates that fall within this downtime have been changed to April 28.
