One of the most accessible and cost-effective ways to improve your health and wellness is by taking up jogging. All you need is some comfortable clothes, a good pair of shoes and the will to hit the streets.
In an effort to help with your motivation, the Kingsport Parks and Recreation is offering a Couch to 5K program later this month for anyone interested in taking up jogging.
This instructor led program takes place three days a week at Borden Park beginning September 28 and running through November 20. Sessions will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during this time from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
Open to participants ages 12 and above and the cost is $30 for city residents and $35 for non-city residents. A special T-shirt will be provided to participants as part of the registration fee.
The goal of the program is to offer guidance, build confidence and help people start their exercise journey.
