SUBJECT: Kingsport Police Respond to Hoax Threats Against School

GENERAL NARRATIVE
On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Cora Cox Academy was placed on lockdown after students reported seeing an individual with a weapon outside the school. Police responded and determined the students’ statements were fabricated. The students who made the false allegations were taken into custody and charged with False Reporting.
No further information will be released at this time, and, as they are juveniles, the students’ identities will not be made available to the public.
