Kingsport Public Library Adds StoryWalk® in Ridgefields Park
The Kingsport Public Library is excited to announce a new StoryWalk®* has been installed in Ridgefields Park. The StoryWalk® consists of 18 displays placed around the park. Each display will contain a page of a picture book along with questions or activities for families to enjoy together. Visit all 18 displays to read the entire story.
The first book in the Ridgefields StoryWalk® will be Stone Soup by Jon J Muth. The story will be installed by February 25 for families to enjoy as the weather improves.
The installation of the Ridgefields StoryWalk® marks the third StoryWalk® in Kingsport. The original StoryWalk® is next to the library in Glen Bruce Park. A StoryWalk® was also installed in Preston Forest Park in November. Each StoryWalk® features a different story and stories are changed quarterly.
At the end of the story there is an opportunity for visitors to share their thoughts. Visitors are encouraged to tag the library of their StoryWalk® visit in their social media posts.
The project is a partnership between the Kingsport Public Library and the Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department.
