Kingsport announces Watauga Street Improvements Phase 1
Roadway and utility improvements will be taking place along a section of Watauga Street (from the Gibson Mill roundabout to Linville Street) beginning the week of June 8.
Work will include road subgrade repairs, new asphalt, new curb, and city utility (water, sewer, stormwater) repairs and replacements. The length of the project is approximately 2,300 feet (approximately 0.44 miles).
Thomas Construction will be the contractor performing this work for the city. The project has an estimated completion date of November 30.
Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling in this area and are encouraged to seek alternate routes. Signs will mark the construction zones and detours.
If you have any questions about this project, please contact Hank Clabaugh with the City of Kingsport Engineering Division at 229-9324 or hankclabaugh@kingsporttn.gov.
