City of Kingsport announces Party at the Park
In celebration of National Park and Recreation Month, the City of Kingsport is hosting its first-ever Party at the Park event later this month. The event is a collaboration of Bays Mountain Park and Planetarium, Kingsport Parks and Recreation and the Kingsport Public Library.
This community event will take place at our newest city park – the BlueCross Healthy Place at Riverwalk Park (875 W. Industry Drive) – on July 31 from 10 a.m. to noon. People of all ages are encouraged to come out and enjoy all of the family-friendly activities scheduled to take place.
“Party at the Park is going to be a morning full of fun! We’re wanting to bring the community an active and family-friendly event, aimed at bringing people together through recreation, wellness and interactive experiences,” said Program Coordinator Renee Ensor.
This free event highlights city programs, services and community resources through hands-on activities, demonstrations, games and giveaways for all ages.
Activities scheduled to take place include:
- Arts & Crafts
- Bays Mountain demos
- Bike safety demos
- Football skills course
- Library reading
- Pickleball
- Touch a Truck
- Water safety demos
- Yard games
An ice cream food truck and DJ will be on site to make the day even better. Plus, the first 100 people will receive a free ice cream. So, grab your water bottle, lace up your best pair of sneakers and come down to Riverwalk Park on July 31 for a morning of fun and engaging games and activities.
