Blast into Kingsport’s e-sports specialty camp this summer
Grab your favorite controller and power on this summer with Kingsport Parks and Recreation’s specialty e-sports camp.
The week-long camp takes place June 1 through June 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the V.O. Dobbins, Sr. Complex Douglass Room (401 Louis Street). Open to children and teens ages 6 to 15. Registration is $50 per city resident and $60 per non-city resident.
Campers will be playing and instructed each day about different e-games, including Fortnite, Rocket League, Mario Kart, Fall Guys and LEGO Fortnite.
Kingsport Parks and Recreation will provide four Xbox Series X systems, four PlayStation 5 systems and a Nintendo Switch, though campers can bring their own console/controller with them to play on.
Throughout the week, campers will engage in a variety of activities designed to enhance their gaming abilities across multiple genres and platforms.
“But it’s not all about competition,” explained Program Administrator Nate Williams. “We also believe in fostering a supportive and inclusive community where gamers can share their passion, make new friends and collaborate with like-minded individuals.”
