Kingsport offering Mountain Biking 101 course
Kingsport Parks and Recreation is trekking up the mountain this Saturday and offering a special one-day beginner’s course in mountain biking.
The TREADZ Mountain Biking 101 course will take place at Bays Mountain Park on September 12 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The course is open to bicyclists ages 8 to 14 and the cost is $15 per person.
Note – participants will need to bring their own mountain bike and helmet.
TREADZ: Mountain Biking 101 is a beginner-friendly program where participants will learn essential riding skills, bike safety, trail etiquette, while building confidence through guided instruction and practice.
“The TREADZ program encourages physical activity, skill development, and just a general love for biking,” said Program Administrator Jason Wilburn. “More specifically, mountain biking provides a great workout and offers a thrilling ride outdoors without the danger of other vehicles.”
