Visual Art contest winners to be on display in Downtown Kingsport
Kingsport Cultural Arts would like to invite the community to visit the Kingsport Center for Higher Education to view the winners of this year’s Echoes & Images visual art contest.
The winning entries will be located on the first floor of KCHE (located at 300 W. Market Street in downtown Kingsport) from now until May 6. KCHE is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Echoes and Images is Northeast State Community College’s student literary magazine, which features poems, short stories, essays and visual art creations by currently enrolled students. Cash prizes are awarded for each category and the visual art entries are put on display each spring following the completion of the competition.
This year’s show will feature the digital photography and digitally created images from the 12 selected artists. The show will coincide with the second annual Kingsport Arts Festival to be held from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on May 3 in the 100 block of Shelby Street.
