Kingsport holds Community Workshop for Comprehensive Plan
The City of Kingsport will host a Community Workshop on Wednesday (April 30) to provide information about the city’s comprehensive plan. The meeting will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Montgomery-Watterson boardroom (3rd floor) of City Hall (415 Broad Street).
Kingsport’s Comprehensive Plan will renew the city’s long-term vision and provide a policy framework to guide long-term investments to implement this vision. The updated plan will allow the city to respond to current challenges (population growth, infrastructure demands) and take advantage of economic opportunities, while preserving Kingsport’s unique character and resources.
During Wednesday’s workshop, the public will be provided with an overview of the comprehensive planning process and an opportunity to review preliminary findings of current conditions.
Participants will be asked to share their vision for Kingsport’s future and be guided through a series of activities designed to gather input on various topics such as land use, housing, infrastructure, economic development and quality of life.
The planning process will provide a variety of ways for Kingsport residents to be involved, both virtually and in-person. The process will include three rounds of engagement taking place in the spring, summer, and fall.
