Sports provides a multitude of benefits to not only the participants, but the spectators as well. Teamwork, competition, socializing with like-minded athletes and being engaged in the community all come to the forefront when you take the field, hit the court or sit in the bleachers.
When it comes to facilities – indoor or outdoor – the City of Kingsport has a wealth of options available. So, whether it’s a soccer league, swimming invitational or pickleball tournament, Kingsport can probably meet all your sporting needs.
Facilities include the Kingsport Aquatic Center, the Lynn View Community Center, V.O. Dobbins, Sr. Complex or any number of our other city parks. Each location provides a unique setting based on your specific needs.
Aquatic Center – The Kingsport Aquatic Center is the region’s most comprehensive indoor-outdoor public aquatic and recreation facility. Boasting the area’s only indoor Olympic-sized pool, the facility is capable of supporting a variety of swimming competitions, from one-day regional swim meets to multi-day collegiate invitationals.
Lynn View Community Center – Located in the heart of Lynn Garden, the Lynn View Community Center is a multi-purpose community center with an indoor basketball court, two ball fields, a lighted high school regulation football field with grandstand seating, an outdoor pickleball court and a three-lane paved track. A wide range of youth and adult sporting events can easily be held on the property.
Renaissance Center – If you’re looking for a facility closer to the center of town, then the Kingsport Renaissance Center might be the location for you. The center features a full-sized gymnasium for basketball, volleyball, pickleball and table tennis, along with a billiards room on the first floor. The facility is also easily accessible for anyone with mobility issues.
V.O. Dobbins, Sr. Complex – Located in the Riverview neighborhood, the V.O. Dobbins, Sr. Complex boasts two indoor gymnasiums, eight lighted pickleball courts and a large, multi-use field for a variety of sporting events, including soccer, flag football, volleyball and more.
Other City Parks – In addition to these city facilities, Kingsport has several other city parks capable of accommodating a variety of sporting events, including baseball and softball (Domtar Park and Brickyard Park), soccer (Eastman Park at Horsecreek) and disc golf and tennis (Borden Park).
