| SUBJECT: | Motorist Critically Injured in West Stone Drive Crash | ||

| GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
| On April 5, 2018 at approximately 5:15 PM, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers responded to a serious motor vehicle collision in the 100 block of West Stone Drive in Kingsport. Due to the degree of injuries to one of the drivers, the K.P.D. Traffic Unit was called to the scene to investigate. Their findings thus far are as follows:
A 2018 Toyota Camry, driven by Michelle A. Miller, was eastbound on West Stone Drive. Meanwhile, a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Rebecca A. Shelton, was exiting the parking lot of Holston Medical Group, located at 105 West Stone Drive. Ms. Shelton failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic and pulled her Chevrolet into the path of the Toyota. The Toyota struck the Chevrolet directly in the driver’s side. Ms. Miller sustained possible injuries and was transported to an area hospital by Sullivan County E.M.S. for medical evaluation. Ms. Shelton was also transported to an area hospital by Sullivan County E.M.S. She is currently undergoing emergency medical treatment for serious injuries and is listed in critical condition. This crash remains under active investigation by the K.P.D. Traffic Unit. As such, no additional details are available for release at this time. |
