SUBJECT: KPD Investigating Shooting

GENERAL NARRATIVE
On February 6th, 2024, at approximately 4:00 am, Kingsport Police Officers responded to reports of multiple gun shots in the 100 block of Walker Street. When officers arrived on scene, they located Marjorie Baldwin inside her residence with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to her right leg. Marjorie was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Kingsport Police Department Criminal Investigation Division responded to process the scene. Currently, there are no suspects identified and the motive for the shooting is unknown. This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
This is an active investigation. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.
