Become a member of Kingsport’s Dogwood Park
Dog parks provide a variety of benefits for both dogs and their owners. The parks give dogs an opportunity to run and play with fellow dogs off-leash, to explore a large, new environment and to socialize with other dogs (and their owners).
Dog parks also give us humans a chance to socialize with other humans and enjoy a break from our daily routine. These are just a few reasons for you to consider becoming a member of Kingsport’s Dogwood Park.
Kingsport offers annual memberships (July-June) for Dogwood Park at the following rates:
- City residents: $25 for the first dog and $15 for each additional dog.
- Non-city residents: $30 for the first dog and $20 for each additional dog.
- Keycard replacement: $15 (pick up at the V.O. Dobbins Sr. Complex)
- Dog park tag replacement: $5 (pick up at the V.O. Dobbins Sr. Complex)

Kingsport opened Dogwood Park (800 Granby Road) in December 2008. Located beside Hunter Wright Stadium, the three-acre park provides an off leash, fenced recreation area where dogs can run, play and socialize with other dogs.
The park is divided into two sections – 2.5 acres for large dogs and .5 acres for smaller dogs. Dogwood Park is secured by a keyless entry system and features restrooms, water fountains, doggie waste stations, benches and dog agility equipment.
An annual registration/fee is required to ensure all dogs have up to date vaccinations. The registration process provides the owner with a gate access card to enter the park and the registered dog with a “Dogwood Park” ID tag.
