Kingsport’s Splash Pads open Saturday for summer season

The Riverview Splash Pad (1101 Martin Luther Jr. Drive) and the Healthy Place Splash Pad (875 W. Industry Drive) will both open this Saturday for the summer season.

Both splash pads will be active from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. every day during the summer through Labor Day. The splash pad can be turned on during these hours by rubbing a silver activator pad located near the attraction.

Splash pads are zero-depth aquatic play structures that allow children to experience different types of water environments. Because the splash pad is a zero-depth facility, it does not have a lifeguard on duty, so all children must be supervised during their visit.

Features of the splash pads include surface water jets, water sprays, run-through loops with water jets, rotating water cannons and water buckets.
