Kingsport Parks and Recreation offers “Move in May” Fitness Day
Regular exercise provides a variety of health benefits for both the young and old. By exercising you can boost your energy, improve your mood, strengthen your immune system, control your weight and get a better night’s sleep.
Which is why the Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department wants to encourage everyone to come out to Riverwalk Park next week to participate in its “Move in May” Fitness Day. This free event will take place on May 1 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Riverwalk Park exercise equipment area.
Officials will demonstrate how to use the outdoor exercise machines, while offering movement and fitness ideas anyone could do in a park. Bottled water will be available for participants.
“We’re offering this program as a way to encourage folks to get outside and move around,” said Kingsport Parks and Recreation Administrator Travis Sensabaugh. “The activities are for folks of all ages, so feel free to bring the entire family and enjoy an active evening in the park.”
Though the event is free, Kingsport Parks and Recreation officials are asking folks to register to know approximately how many people will be showing up.
