Kingsport installing new water line on Lynn Road

The City of Kingsport will begin installation of a new waterline on Lynn Road in Blountville on Monday (September 8) as part of a waterline extension project.

Through traffic is asked to use the signed detour route to limit congestion and delays on Lynn Road. The project is expected to be completed by February 2, 2026.

Drivers are asked to follow the detour route from Fieldcrest Road to Childress Ferry Road to Rocky Branch Road, and Pearl Lane back to Browder Road during construction. GRC Civil Services, Inc. will be the contractor performing this work for the City of Kingsport.

The construction zone will be marked by signs and directed by flaggers – when required.

Drivers are asked to use caution in the area during this time.  The detour route will be marked by signs from the Fieldcrest Road and the Browder Road ends of the project area.
