Kingsport hosting “Champions of the Court” pickleball event

Kingsport Parks and Recreation is hosting a Champions of the Court pickleball event next week, where players will compete to see who has the best paddle skill on the court.

The three week event will run on Mondays from May 6 through June 17 with all games played at the Riverview Park Pickleball Courts from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day.

The cost is $5 per person per week and the event is open to 20 players per week. Participants must be ages 14 and up.

The event is broken into two, three-week divisions – one for beginner/intermediate players and the other for advanced players. Beginner/intermediate players will play on May 6, May 20 and June 10, while advanced players will play on May 13, June 3 and June 17.

Players will be matched randomly and at the end of the event, the top two players from each division will face off on June 24 for the championship game. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team.
