Customer Service payment options will be temporarily unavailable
The City of Kingsport will launch its new Customer Information System (CIS) on April 27. This new system will provide faster service, clearer bills and more payment options. Residents will also gain access to a new online portal and mobile tools for managing their accounts.
In the days leading up to the launch of this new system, residents will notice a brief transition period as the city prepares for the change.
As such, the current Customer Information System will enter maintenance mode, and services – such as account changes and taking payments – will be temporarily unavailable after 5 p.m. on April 23 through 8 a.m. on April 27.
Note – payment due dates that fall within this downtime have been changed to April 28.
This downtime is necessary to ensure all customer data transfers properly from the old system to the new system.
“Customer service remains a top priority for the City of Kingsport, and we believe this new CIS will be a significant improvement over the old system,” said Travis Bishop, chief financial officer for the City of Kingsport. “We appreciate the public’s patience during this necessary downtime.”
