Christmas in Kingsport: A Carousel Christmas
Christmas in Kingsport – a month-long holiday celebration – concludes this week with snow downtown, free carousel rides and the announcement of the winners of the tree decorating contest.
This is Kingsport partnered with the Downtown Kingsport Association this year to bring you the best in holiday events throughout the month of December. For more information about these events just visit www.christmasinkingsport.com.
Coming up later this week in downtown Kingsport:
Christmas at the Kingsport Carousel will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 21 at the Kingsport Carousel (320 Clinchfield Street).
The event will feature free carousel rides, Reindeer Games from the Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department, and for kids – free hot chocolate from Early Bird, candy canes, cookies from the Great American Cookie Company (while supplies last) and a free carousel ornament (while supplies last).
Snow will start falling at 1 p.m. and expect a visit from Santa Claus and the Grinch from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Tree Decoration Awards Ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. in Centennial Park (245 E. Main Street). Come out to enjoy the final night of snow, see which Christmas trees were crowned the champions and listen to classic Christmas songs sung by the Kingsport Theatre Guild.
