Winners announced in Storm Drain Art Contest
The City of Kingsport’s Stormwater Department is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Storm Drain Art Contest.
The winners are:
- Trista Demoranville
- Rebecca Monroe
- Juanita Mitchell
- Desiree Feyers
- Brenda Salcido

Each artist will receive a $150 prize and the paint and materials to start their work the first week of September. Drains to be painted are located on Cedar Street, Dobyns-Bennett High School, the Palmer Early Learning Center, the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce and the Kingsport Center for Higher Education.
The contest – now in its fifth year – is a partnership with the city’s stormwater department, the Office of Cultural Arts and Engage Kingsport. The goal of the contest is to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our rivers, stream habitat, and aquatic wildlife.
This year’s contest is sponsored by Barge Designs, Bishop & Co., Gresham Smith and Now or Never Tattoo.
