Road closures along Pineola, Garden and Lamont streets
[Update 2/8: The City of Kingsport will be performing sanitary sewer rehab work on Pineola Avenue and Garden Drive Wednesday, February 7 as part of Phase I Sanitary Sewer Lining Project 2022. The work will require the closure of the section of Pineola Avenue between the intersection of Garden Drive and Carolina Avenue as well as closure of Garden Drive from the intersection with Pineola Avenue to 1501 Garden Drive through Friday, February 23. Detour routes will be provided down Garden Drive to Lamont Street and out to the signal on East Center Street and down Pineola Avenue to North Eastman Road. The work also will require the closure of the section of Lamont Street between the intersection of Garden Drive and Holyoke Street starting Monday February 12 through Saturday March 16. Sections of Pineola Avenue and Garden Drive will be closed beginning Monday (January 15) for a contractor to perform sanitary sewer rehab work for the City of Kingsport.
Pineola Avenue from the intersection of Garden Drive and Carolina Avenue will be closed, as will Garden Drive from the intersection with Pineola Avenue to 1501 Garden Drive. The closures will remain in place through Friday (January 19).
Detour routes will be provided down Garden Drive to Lamont Street and out to the signal on East Center Street and down Pineola Avenue to North Eastman Road.
Work will also require the closure of a section of Lamont Street between the intersection of Garden Drive and Holyoke Street beginning Wednesday (January 17) and running through Friday (January 19).
Detour routes will be provided down Lamont Street and out to the signal on East Center Street and down Lamont Street to E. Sevier Avenue and out to the signal on North Wilcox Drive.
Morgan Contracting, Inc. will be the contractor performing this work. The work is part of Kingsport’s Phase 1 Sanitary Sewer Lining Project of 2022.
The construction zones will be marked by signs and directed by flaggers (when required). Motorists are asked to use caution in this area during this time.
