Registration Open for Evening Beginner Pickleball Classes

Kingsport Parks and Recreation is hosting Beginner Pickleball classes this fall for anyone interested in learning this hugely popular and competitive sport that’s sweeping the nation.

Classes will be held at the pickleball courts at Jack Pierce, Sr. Park (300 Louis Street) from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on September 10, 17 and 24 and on October 1 and 8. Classes are for participants ages 14 and up and the cost is $40 for city residents and $45 for non-city residents.

Participants will enjoy an instructor-led course covering all aspects of basic pickleball, including the rules of the game, serving, the return serve and dinking. All equipment will be provided.

“Whether you’ve never picked up a paddle or you want to build a solid foundation, this class is the perfect place to start,” said Program Coordinator Renee Ensor.
