GENERAL NARRATIVE | ||||
On May 23, 2021 a vandalism to a City of Kingsport police cruiser was discovered. The fully marked police car was parked in the Shelby Street parking garage when the rear window was smashed.
A review of surveillance video footage revealed that a white male suspect had deliberately struck and shattered the rear window with an unidentified object as he walked past the car. The suspect appeared to be accompanied by another white male who is also being sought as a person of interest. Photos of these two individuals are included in this release. In the photos, the suspect is wearing a white sleeveless shirt, while the person of interest is wearing a long-sleeved black t-shirt. Anyone who recognizes either of these individuals is asked to contact the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
