| GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
| The City of Kingsport Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Corrections Officer, also commonly referred to as Jailer, with the Kingsport Police Department. Applications will be accepted until July 25, 2021. Individuals 18 years of age or older who are interested in a criminal justice career are encouraged to apply. Applicants are asked to only apply once, as weeding out duplicate applications hampers efficiency.
As Tennessee Corrections Institute (TCI) regulations require an equal number of male and female Corrections Officers on staff, the current vacancy is only for a male Corrections Officer. Female Corrections Officer positions are presently fully staffed. All applications must be submitted online using the following link: https://www.GovernmentJobs.com/Careers/Kingsport The starting salary for a Kingsport Police Department Corrections Officer is $14.28 per hour or $29,702.40 annually.
