SUBJECT: | Police Attempting to Identify Suspect Who Used Cloned Credit Card at Local Grocery Store | ||
DATE: | December 8, 2016 | ||
CASE #: | 16-020215 | ||
GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
On September 16, 2016 a black male suspect made a fraudulent purchase of $65.04 using a credit card at Food City, located at 1911 Moreland Drive in Kingsport. The suspect had apparently cloned the victim’s credit card, as the legitimate owner of the card was out of town and in possession of the original card at the time of this transaction.
The transaction was recorded by store surveillance cameras, and photos of the suspect taken from that footage have been included in this release. Anyone who recognizes him is asked to contact Detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
