GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
On January 9, 2019 Darius D. Woodbury was arrested on an outstanding Kingsport Police Department warrant in Sleepy Hollow Village, New York. He has been wanted for the charges of Attempted Second Degree Murder and Violation of Probation since October 15, 2018 following a stabbing incident at Dogwood Terrace Apartments in Kingsport.
As of the time of issuance of this news release, Mr. Woodbury remains in custody as a Fugitive from Justice, in the Westchester County, New York Jail, awaiting extradition back to Tennessee. The Kingsport Police Department would like to sincerely thank all of the New York Law Enforcement Officers involved for their diligence in his apprehension. As previously released: On October 15, 2018 at approximately 1:30 AM Kingsport Police Patrol Officers and Detectives were dispatched to a stabbing incident at Dogwood Terrace Apartments, located at 1921 Bowater Drive in Kingsport. Responding Officers located a 19 year old black male victim with a life-threatening stab wound. He was transported to an area medical facility for emergency treatment and remains hospitalized in stable condition. The resultant investigation revealed that the victim was stabbed during a physical altercation by Darius D. Woodbury, who then fled the scene prior to police arrival. Detectives obtained a warrant charging Mr. Woodbury with Attempted Second Degree Murder. As a result of his involvement in this incident, he is also wanted on a separate warrant for Violation of Probation. As of the time of this release, Mr. Woodbury remains at large. He is a 24 year old black male adult, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Based on this current incident as well as past violent behavior, he should be considered armed and dangerous. A photograph of Mr. Woodbury is attached.
