GENERAL NARRATIVE
The Kingsport Police Department joins with State Representative Charles (Bud) Hulsey in recognizing longtime KPD volunteer Valerie Ford for her years of dedicated service to the Police Department and her community. Representative Hulsey, who is a retired Kingsport Police Lieutenant, honored Mrs. Ford with a Resolution in the Tennessee House of Representatives honoring her service to the State of Tennessee. Mrs. Ford moved to Kingsport following her husband’s retirement. She served in the United States Navy rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Mrs. Ford became a volunteer with the Kingsport Police Department in 2000 where she contributed countless hours to the welfare of the department. She provided many meals, served as a uniform seamstress, and assisted with the department’s accreditation process. She later served her community as a reserve police officer. She has previously received the Special Recognition award and the Volunteer of the Year award in 2004. KPD extends a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Ford for her dedication to this agency, her country, and her local community.
