GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
On October 10, 2019 at approximately 3:00 PM, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers and Detectives responded to an address in the 3900 block of Alderwood Drive in Kingsport in reference to a shooting incident. Responding Officers located a 19 year old white male adult victim with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the leg. He was promptly transported to a local hospital by Sullivan County EMS for emergency medical treatment of serious injuries. The resultant investigation revealed the following:
The suspect, identified as Travis Gale Bishop, came to this location and unlawfully entered the residence. Once inside, an altercation ensued between Mr. Bishop and the victim. A firearm was produced, and a shot was fired which struck the victim in the leg. Mr. Bishop subsequently fled the scene. Mr. Bishop and the victim were acquainted with one another prior to the shooting, and this appears to be an isolated incident. Detectives have obtained a warrant, charging Mr. Bishop with 1) Especially Aggravated Burglary, 2) Aggravated Assault, and 3) Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon. As of the time of issuance of this release, Mr. Bishop remains wanted and at large. He is a 39 year old white male adult. He is approximately 6 feet tall, weighs roughly 180 pounds, and has blonde hair and blue eyes. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
