SUBJECT: | Kingsport Police Investigating Extensive Vandalism to Former Colonial Heights Middle School Building | |||

GENERAL NARRATIVE | ||||
On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers were called to the former Colonial Heights Middle School building, located at 415 Lebanon Road in Kingsport. The vacant building, now owned and being remodeled by Lakeway Christian Schools, had been extensively vandalized at some point over the previous weekend.
The malicious damage included but was not necessarily limited to broken exterior and interior windows, shattered basketball backboards, damaged ceiling tiles, and graffiti spray-painted throughout the building. A preliminary property damage estimate exceeds $25,000. This incident is currently under open investigation by the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division. Detectives are still actively working to develop suspects.
