NEWS RELEASE | |||
SUBJECT: | Kingsport Detectives Investigating Colonial Heights Convenience Store Robbery
DATE: | December 13, 2019
CASE #: | 19-028114 | ||
GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
On November 30, 2019 at approximately 12:15 AM, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Roadrunner Market/Shell Station located at 4222 Fort Henry Drive in the Colonial Heights area of Kingsport. The subsequent investigation by K.P.D. Detectives revealed the following:
A lone suspect entered the store, approached the clerk, and demanded that she give him the money from the register. He indicated that he had a gun and threatened to shoot her if she didn’t comply. He ultimately aborted the attempted robbery and fled the store empty-handed. With the help of a K-9 Unit, responding officers searched the surrounding area; however, the suspect was not located. The suspect appears to have been a white male adult. He was dressed in blue jeans that appeared to have distinctive embroidery on the back pockets. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt or jacket that appeared to have reflective striping and tabs on the shoulders, pockets, and back. He also was wearing dark-colored shoes. He had his jacket hood up and his face covered with a bandana and sunglasses. Photos of the suspect, taken from store surveillance video, have been included in this release. A clip of the actual video footage has also been made available for viewing on the K.P.D. YouTube channel via the link below: Anyone who recognizes him, or who may have any additional information to assist with this investigation, is asked to contact Detectives in the K.P.D.
