GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
On December 6, 2018, a woman reported her debit card stolen to the Kingsport Police Department. She told Officers that she had just realized that she had mistakenly left it behind the previous day (December 5, 2018), sitting on top of the air pump at the Food City Gas ‘N Go, located at 500 West Center Street in Kingsport.
Her debit card was apparently soon “found” by an individual who proceeded to unlawfully use it to make three fraudulent transactions at the adjacent Food City grocery store, located at 300 Clinchfield Street, and another fraudulent transaction at the nearby Burger King, located at 315 Clinchfield Street. A white male suspect was captured on surveillance video during the transaction at Burger King. A photo of the suspect, taken from that footage, has been included in this release. Anyone who recognizes him is asked to contact Detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111. Alternatively, if an individual who is able to supply information related to this or any other case wishes not to be identified, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms available at the following link: https://www.kingsporttn.gov/city-services/police-department/contact-us |
